The Girl Playing the FluteRate this encounter: Anthony Jonez, Honolulu, Hawaii - October 31, 2008One night after band practice at Mckinly High School I went to the band room to get my bag (we were practicing outside). As I went to get my bag there was a faded image of a girl playing the flute. I walked toward her. As I was walking, I stopped about 10 feet away from her and said, "Come on, it's time to go." She said, "Okay," and walked away. As she was walking away her legs weren't moving as she walked. I thought my head was thinking weird things, so I just let it go. And as I was getting my bag, I turned around and I heard a running sound coming toward me! I threw my bag, about 13 chairs, and one instrument. The running stopped. I looked for my bag in the pile of chairs and saw that the girl's flute was there. I said to myself, "I didn't throw a flute, I threw a trumpet." That's when I started to scream because I knew it was that girl's flute. I ran to my car outside. As I was driving away I took a quick look in the bandroom window. She was right there playing the flute, looking at me. That's when I found out that the girl was a Japanese girl. She died in the bandroom when the band teacher beat her after school when everyone left.
