My 3 Year-Old Sees His GrandpaRate this encounter: [Name Withheld Upon Request], Boston, Massachusetts, August 2005My 3 year-old son woke up one morning and was getting ready to come downstairs for breakfast when he said, "Mommy, I saw grandpa yesterday." (Grandpa died when he was 5 months old.) I said, "You did? Where?" He said, "In the house." My son then said, "Yes, he wanted to let everyone know he's coming tomorrow." My son didn't know it, but we were going to a relative's house for a party the next day. When I was telling this story to my friend, I was sitting in front of my pc and the screen saver was rolling through my hundreds of my pictures I have saved. They are all random. Just when I said his grandpa's name -- his picture came up. I then said to my friend, "But I don't know where my son saw him..." The only picture I have of my hallway came up next. I got chills! I guess I know where my son had his conversation with his grandpa. This is not the first time he has had sightings of relatives past. A week after his great grandmother passed away, he hid behind my legs in the kitchen and asked, "Who was that lady in the kitchen talking to mommy?" I told him I didn't hear or see anyone. He peeked out from my legs -- very nervous as if to get a better look -- and said, "Mimi," that what he called his "great grammy."
