For as long as I could remember, we have always had paranormal activity in
our home. When I was 5 years old, I had seen the spirit of a tall, slender,
suit-wearing man in my parents' bedroom. On a separate occasion, my mother
has seen him. We have also heard voices, footsteps, and movement in empty
rooms. We've never been afraid or have felt threatened by our spirits, but
there have been times when they have spooked us real good!
When I was about 11 years old, I had my first encounter with the little girl
spirit. At the time, my sister and I were sharing the same room. She was 6
years old and afraid of the dark, so every night we had to sleep with the
closet light on. I never cared to have the light on, so I would wait for her
to fall asleep and then I'd quietly walk over to the closet and turn off the
light. Well this particular night was different and I will never forget it.
When I realized she was sound asleep, I was about to get out of bed when all
of a sudden, out of thin air, a little girl materialized in the middle of
the room, running over to the closet, turning the light off for me! I was
shocked. This little girl stood there for what seemed like a few moments
with her hand on the switch and stared at me. The weird part about this
whole experience was the fact that she was nothing but a shadow person, yet,
I just knew she was looking at me. I could not see what she was wearing, I
could not see her face, but judging from her shadow, she appeared to be
around the same age as my sister, maybe a little older and she had a pony
tail. I was frozen, but I finally got the courage to pull the covers over my
head and eventually I had fallen asleep.
Over the years that followed, we've heard and felt strange presences, but
never really saw anything. That is, until last October when my sister, who
was 18 years old at the time, had the experience of her life. She had just
come home from a friend's house and it was a little past midnight. She
changed into her PJ's and crawled into bed. Not long after she got herself
comfortable, she heard a little girl giggle. It sounded like it came from
outside her window. When she turned her head in that direction, she saw the
little girl with a pony tail standing beside her bed, looking at her. The
girl was a featureless shadow figure, just as I had seen her years before.
My sister quickly turned on the light and the girl was gone. At that time,
she heard our dad pulling into the driveway, so she jumped out of bed and
waited for him outside because she was too scared to stay in her room. When
she told him what happened, they came back to the room but the girl was long
gone. However, my dad had felt static electricity all around him as he
entered the room. Needless to say, my sister ended up sleeping with me that
night!
The little girl is still around, though we have not seen her lately. But we
have heard her. A few weeks after the incident with my sister, she and her
boyfriend were in her room on the computer when her boyfriend heard the
giggle himself. He turned and looked at my sister and asked, "Did you hear
that?" to which she replied, "You heard that too?" More recently, we brought
a new puppy home, and one morning my sister was on the laptop at the dining
table while our dad was in the kitchen making breakfast. The puppy was
sleeping near my sister's feet when my dad heard a voice say, "Come here,
puppy." Thinking it was my sister, he told her, "The puppy is right there
next to you!" My sister was a bit confused and that is when my dad realized
he must have heard the little girl.
