The Shadow Monster

I feel kind of funny sharing this experience but here goes...
One night my daughter and I were laying down watching TV. At the time, my
daughter had just turned 3 and her brother had just been born. She was
getting used to sleeping in her own bed until she stared telling me that she
was seeing a monster. I just thought that she was acting up because of the
new baby or she was just having bad dreams. This went on for about a couple
of days when I started feeling something watching me every time I moved.
Well, one night she started complaining that she didn't want to sleep in her
bed because of the monster so I took her around the house to show her there
was nothing there. I laid her back down and was almost asleep when I heard
her gasp and I saw her sitting up in her bed. When I went to reach for her I
saw a dark shadow pass in front of my cable box which blocked out the light.
I was unable to move or talk for about 5 to 10 seconds when suddenly my
daughter got up from bed and said, "See mommy, cuco [monster]." As she got
up to chase after the shadow it wrapped itself up and disappeared. I grabbed
my daughter as hard as I could and didn't sleep for the rest of the night.
It was exactly 3:17 AM. My birth date.
The next day I went to see someone about what happened and they told me that
this is nothing new to me which is true. I've felt and seen things since I
was a child but never spoke about it. He told me there was an evil spirit
that wanted to cause us harm. As I left I told myself that I could not fear
the unexplained but I did send a warning to the dark shadow. As I entered
the house with my daughter I said out loud, "Do whatever harm you want to do
to me, but you leave my babies out of this. This is between me and you." As
I finished a plate from on top of the stove feel to the floor and broke into
pieces. Suddenly I felt a cold gust of wind, then quiet. From this day
forward I try to protect my little girl the best I can because I now know
that she has the same blessing and curse that I have.
