The Wisp in the WindowRate this encounter: William, Oklahoma city, Oklahoma, 1977When I was about 4 years old, my grandma and grandpa lived next to this house which was abandoned. I remember my uncles and their friends partying in this house. Anyways, as it turned out, that house actually was not lived in. I found out many years later that the owner died in that house and he wasn't found for like 2 or 3 weeks. But I didn't know this at the time because I was 4 years old. One day my uncle and I were out just walking and I remember walking behind him about 5 to 10 feet away. We proceeded to walk on the north side of this house where my uncles and them would enter the house through a living room window. The house faced south. Anyways, I was just strolling behind my uncle -- I remember this incident as though it happened yesterday -- I'm 34 years old now. As my uncle proceeded past this window, I was walking by the same window and for some reason, I can't remember why, but I stopped in front of this window. As I was looking at this window I saw a white, smoky image come up to the window. I remember seeing a face -- you could see where the eyes and nose and mouth would be. I just stood there kind of in a hypnotized state, then I remember seeing a hand motioning me toward it. And then it said my name, like in a whispery voice. That's when I snapped out of whatever trance I was in. I remember just being real scared. I ran and jumped on my uncle's back and we both went to the ground. I was crying, and my uncle had to carry me back to my grandma's house. I told him what I had seen, and of course, there was nothing there when we walked past that window again. This encounter probably lasted maybe 10 to 20 seconds, but I still can remember what this thing looked like. I always wanted someone to draw it up for me on paper. I don't think I will ever forget what this thing looked like, or its voice. That's my story, that's why I believe in ghosts.
