Black-Hooded FigureRate this encounter: Andrea Slaughter, Cleveland, Texas, March 1981My husband and I had only been married a few months when I abruptly awoke one night. At first I was puzzled as to why, since I could detect no disturbance. Then at the foot of the bed I saw, standing motionless, what appeared to be a shrouded figure in black. As I watched, the figure slowly lowered what appeared to be a hood off its head, and I was looking a the feature of a pig -- tusks and all! Up till then, I had only been curious, but started to feel very frightened. I looked over at my husband, intending on waking him up. Without saying a word, the figure managed to convey to me that my husband would not be awakened, that I was on my own. Then the pig-man slowly extended two very normal, human-looking hands out in what was clearly an invitation. At a loss as to what else to do, I started to recite the Lord's Prayer over and over again. On the third recitation, the figure slowly disappeared, leaving me utterly exhausted. The next morning, I told my husband what had happened, and he said he had seen and heard odd things there since he had moved his trailer in there, including getting a late night visit himself. The trailer we lived in was brand-new, but the land may have had a "history," I never checked. We moved about eight months later.
