Ghostvillage.com review

Paranormal readers have long held an interest in Aleister Crowley because of his gifts for communicating with spirits, and his use of spirit guides. But until now, in part thanks to Crowley’s sense of humor and hard-to-read writings, too much myth has been placed on the man, and the truth has not always been able to come through. This book, a handbook of rituals of Crowley’s Thelema, corrects that situation.

Highly readable, Lon Milo DuQuette writes with keen personal wit and insight, showing the readers a much different look at Crowley than is found in the newspaper accounts. He references the truth about Crowley and dispels the hype!

How many readers recall now that Aleister Crowley made his photo appearance on the record album of The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” during the 1960s? Did he die in abject poverty and hard times? No, in fact, he died peacefully in a pleasant and well-kept boarding house. Dispelling the Crowley myths is at times amusing, and thanks to DuQuette, done with much charm and intelligence.

As a guide to Crowley, this is probably among the finest contemporary works, for it cuts through much of the arcane language of Crowley and places it into contemporary words and directions. Among the many chapters of interest are found The Book of the Law, Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel, The Religion of Thelema, The Solar Rites, and much, much more to whet the appetite of readers!

This book with its explanations and factual data should go a very long way in bringing an accurate look at one of the great occultists. Honest, amusing, and detailed, this book is well worth your time if you ever wanted to know the truth about Aleister Crowley but were afraid to ask. The Star Ruby and material on the pentagram are clearly explained, and enjoyable reading.

This is an eye-opener of a book. It is a nice guide to Aleister Crowley. Readers will want to own a copy and have a copy placed in their local Public Library. Of the numerous books concerning Aleister Crowley, this is one of the most accurate ones to-date, and the material is presented in a straight-forward approach. Highly recommended reading.
