The Old Woman Who Passed Through a CarRate this encounter: [Name Withheld Upon Request] - Lakewood Ranch, Florida - December 4, 2008Last night my 16 year old son had a 10 PM curfew, it was 10:08 PM, and we heard the garage open, he walked in a minute later, and he was crying. Now my son is 6-feet tall, 195 pounds, plays defensive end on the varsity football team, and he's a varsity wrestler. I haven't seen him cry since he was five-years-old. And also it would be hard to find a less spiritual person. He is just focused on sports and girls -- not in that order. We asked him what happened and he said he was turning into our neighborhood and he saw an old woman on the sidewalk -- he assumed she was just walking her dog which is common in our neighborhood. He slowed down as the woman walked toward and then onto the road. He was going to go around her but she kept walking toward the center of the road. He stopped the car completely and when she got to the center of the road (about 40 feet in front of his car) she made a 90 degree turn and walked directly toward the car. She was looking straight ahead and she just continued walking right at the car. My son tensed up and held his foot on the brake. She then walked right through the car and my son said it got freezing cold. His rap music, which was on very loud, went silent as she passed through the car. The music came back on and my son looked behind him to make sure she wasn't in the back seat, and he didn't see anything or anybody in the back seat or behind the car. He stepped on the gas and raced home -- he was very shaken and crying when he walked into the kitchen and told my wife and I this story.
