Glowing Figure on the PorchRate this encounter: Curt, Niles, Ohio - October 1999Let me explain a bit about the houses in this story first. The yard of the house in which my cousin and I were playing in was my aunt's house, and the house next door was the house my grandmother lived in at the time of the event. That house is where I live today. Anyways... I was about ten years old and me and my cousin, Dustin were in the backyard of my aunt's house playing at night. We had a wooden fort that our dads had built us to play in, so we were just in there playing games like kids do. We finally decided after some time to go inside the house because it was starting to get cold outside as the night grew older. We starting walking up the hill toward the back of my aunt's house when we both suddenly stopped in our tracks and looked to our left toward my grandmother's house next door. It was almost as if we stopped out of pure instinct and intuition. On the back porch next door, a white, glowing figure stepped out onto the back steps. It looked like an illuminated skeleton that was just covered with bright, white light. My cousin and I stood there for a few seconds before we said or acted upon anything, perhaps we were waiting to see what it would do. Assuming it must just be my grandmother (who was alive at the time), my cousin called out to it in question, "Grandma?" The illuminated figure let out a very calm-like scream. Not a scream that you might hear from a horror film, but just a very tranquil scream. By this time, we both knew this certainly was not my grandmother at all. We took off running up the hill and went inside. I will surely never forget that night.
