Date of Encounter: 1989

Well then maybe we will start with the beginning… I think I was 8 or 9, I don't quite remember. But anyway we hadn't moved yet — that much I recall. (This is my first memory of an encounter, though it's not necessarily the first I had.) I was having a dream of an older lady telling me to remember my roots as an Indian. I then was in that place between dream and sleep and I recall this nice lady with slightly graying hair rocking me. For some reason, this startled me. I tried to wake up. When I did, I fell about a foot into my bed. I then ran screaming into my parents' bed. My mom asked me what was wrong and I told her what had happened. She told me not to be afraid — that my greatmother was trying to explain what was happening to me (I am an empath). She then rocked me back to sleep. This is just the first of my stories. The lady was later to be discovered to be my grandma Falkner who died on December 15, 1979 at 12:59 AM. I was born on December 15 at 12:59 pm.

Just a foot note to this story… My dad recalled the night of his grandmother's death that he saw her come to him and say, "Goodbye, Billy. I will see you in this world no more." Shortly thereafter the phone rang. My grandfather was calling my dad to say, "Your grandma died. To which he replied, "I know."

My family, thanks to my parents' beliefs, have always taught me of an after life. I believe that "spirit" sticks around if they are needed or if they have unfinished business. I believe my grandmother wanted to only tell me of my "gift" and what it meant.
