Celebrating its ninth anniversary, one of the Web’s largest and most comprehensive paranormal destinations expands content offering to younger market: Kids.Ghostvillage.com.

Bellingham, Massachusetts, October 9, 2008 — Ghostvillage.com, the Web’s largest supernatural resource for ghost evidence, pictures, recordings, and research, today announced the launch of Kids.Ghostvillage.com, the first paranormal Web site designed for kids, parents, and educators on how to talk about ghosts, how kids can safely get involved in paranormal investigation, and on how educators can use ghosts in the classroom as a teaching tool. The launch comes on the nine-year anniversary of Ghostvillage.com.

“We often teach our kids that ghosts aren’t real,” said Jeff Belanger, Ghostvillage.com founder and author of the new children’s book, Who’s Haunting the White House?. “But kids aren’t so sure. Many of us have been interested in the paranormal since our own childhood, it makes sense to have a place for kids to learn about investigating, for parents to take an active role in their kids’ interest, and for educators to see the value in incorporating ghosts in the classroom, from teaching history to learning about the power of ghosts in writing and story telling.”

Kids.Ghostvillae.com offers “Junior Ghost Hunters” tips and forms on how to conduct an investigation, and the chance to file their field reports for publication on the Web site. For parents, the Web site offers a resource on how to discuss the topic of ghosts with their children, and how to handle kids in a potentially haunted environment. The “Ghosts in the Classroom” section includes sample lesson plans, recommended reading, and interviews with children’s book authors.

The advisory boards of Kids.Ghostvillage.com include children’s book authors, professional educators, and a psychologist who help vet the content for kids and parents.

Belanger added, “As with everything on Ghostvillage.com, the new Kids section will continue to expand as more visitors contribute their own accounts and stories. We look forward to helping families deal with a subject that can often be delicate.”
