An incredibly entertaining reading experience, Exploring Shamanism is a nonfiction book readers of the paranormal will wish to investigate! Hillary S. Webb has put together a fine work, and each chapter is both educational and enjoyable reading.

This book clearly introduces readers to the Shaman’s intricate role as priest, healer, and visionary. It discusses basic skills that must be developed and how these skills lead to greater things. The author is accurate and honest in presenting the many complex items.

The introduction is excellent and paves the way for the chapters which follow. Chapter 1 deals with mapping the cosmos, Axis Mundi and the Shamantic Worldview. Chapter 2, which will find a large reading audience for its contents, discusses embracing the Shadow, illuminating the Divine, and the Shaman’s initiation ordeal.

Chapter 3 is concerned with the Shaman’s doorway and journeys into ecstasy. Chapter 4 has much stunning material concerning demi-gods and demons, and the Shaman’s pantheon of spirit allies. Chapter 5 develops the thoughts of dialogue with the sacred related to ritual and magic. Chapter 6 explains Shamantic healing, and Chapter 7 views Shamanism as the “path of the heart.”

Any person wishing to understand the complex world of the Shaman will find this remarkable book clear reading and a genuine learning experience. Highly recommended reading and reference book.
