Orange, Connecticut – The Smoking Gun Research Agency is proud to announce that on July 1 it will be opening the first, and only-known, library and research center dedicated exclusively to Parapsychology, Metaphysics, and other “fringe” topics. The Center will be located in Orange, Connecticut, just one mile off of Interstate 95 or the Merritt Parkway (Rt. 15), and a block off of the Post Road (Rt. 1). At the location, visitors will find an extensive library of materials including books and publications, DVDs and videos, photo and document archives, electronic archives, and much more. In addition, there will be the SGRA Research Center available for anyone who wants to utilize the resources of the SGRA and conduct their own research into local incidents, worldwide events, and other aspects. The Center will be staffed by the experts from the SGRA who will be there to assist individuals in their searches.
To the best of knowledge, this new Center is the only public library of its kind in the Northeast, and perhaps even in the country. While there are other collections, and some private libraries that are known about, none that we were able to find offer access to anyone, nor offer the resources of a recognized and respected research organization. “This is the next evolution of our organization,” says SGRA Founder & Director Jon Nowinski. “It’s been a long-time dream of mine to see this become a reality, and it’s exciting that we are poised to make it happen.”
Jon says that the Center will not only provide resources of materials to the public, but will also help people to connect with trusted individuals in the paranormal, metaphysical, and other communities the SGRA is a part of. For example, if someone is looking for a trusted Reiki Master for energy work or training, the Staff of the Research Center will put them in touch with individuals they work with and know personally. In addition, the Center will offer a place for individuals interested in these subjects to come, openly discuss and share their experiences, and find answers to their own questions. The SGRA is also planning many events, workshops, and other programs at the Center, beginning with a large grand opening picnic event.
