Sensing a Presence

I went to my then girlfriend's dad's house for Christmas. I slept on the couch in the living room and the first night I was sleeping I woke when I felt my arm being moved and placed upon my chest. Then I felt a strong push on my chest. I initially thought it was my girlfriend paying me a visit, but nobody was there. I then had a very strong sense of somebody watching me and I smelled a very strong odor of wet earth. I turned over to face the couch and pulled the covers over my head because I didn't feel comfortable. The funny thing is I was in the Army at the time and had been through some real "scary" times. For some reason I felt really uncomfortable and hid under the sheets. After about five minutes I got my composer back and ran straight to my girlfriend's room and slept the rest of the night on the floor. The next day I explained what happened to her and her sister who lives at the house. They both got real quiet. Her sister then told me what she has experienced. A baby gate that separates the kitchen from the living room would move or open up. Toys and the TV would come on at all hours of the day. Toys would move. They would walk by and think they would see somebody in the room. Come to find out, their mother stayed in the room when she had cancer and died on the couch.
