Catherine MacCoun has written a remarkable nonfiction book on becoming an alchemist. It is both a guide and a carefully researched history. It is the type of book that those interested in alchemy will want to have in their home libraries. It is an ideal book to have your local librarian order for the public library patrons.

MacCoun gives a sense of verve and wit to her writing that further adds to the overall enchantment of this well-written book. She successfully incorporates exercises, anecdotes, and material from the master alchemists. This book will also explain how to awaken intuition.

There are two parts to the book. In part one, principles are detailed. In part two, procedures are detailed. The explanations are clear, helpful, and concise.

Thirteen chapters comprise the book. These interesting chapters cover such topics as unlocking secret codes; time, freedom, and magical intuition; commencing the Great Work; sublimation; among other topics. Two appendices are included, one of which gives accurate insight into how to meditate.

As far as alchemy books go, this one is topnotch. It delivers on its topic and the reader will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
