Debuts new Haunted History Trail of New York State Brochure
Batavia, NY – If you’ve ever wondered where you can investigate ghostly activity, or stay overnight in a haunted inn in New York State, you now have just one place to look – www.HauntedHistoryTrail.com . The tourism promotion agencies of 21 counties across the state have banded together to promote their haunted tourism attractions to thrill-seeking visitors. This 400-mile trail of year-round ghostly adventures came to life last fall with the launch of the website and a new, free trail map brochure became available in the spring.
“Interest in the paranormal continues to increase in pop culture and those with this interest are eager to explore new areas” said Kelly Rapone, trail founder and tourism marketing director for the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce. “Our research has shown that ghost enthusiasts are looking for paranormal travel experiences that they can have year-round for single and multi-day trips” Rapone said. We looked around and found no other example in the United States of a state-wide paranormal tourism program in place to provide easy-access for traveling ghost-enthusiasts. Our tourism agencies recognized that there is a demand for this type of visitor experience, and so the trail was created across New York State.
