Lewis Mehl-Madrona is a consistently fine writer, each book an adventure in reading and interesting topics. He holds an M.D. and is a board-certified family physician, psychiatrist, and geriatrician. He also has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. The author of Coyote Medicine, his latest nonfiction work is bound to attract a lot of readers.

Following the foreword by Larry Dossey, M.D. and an introduction, are ten chapters concluded by a concise notes section. Such topics as miracles, finding the inner healer, medicine wheel, and the power of ceremony are covered in detail.

The author gives many insightful and intricate views on life, and wellness. He is able to distill the common elements in miracle cures to start people on their own personal healing journeys. The four directions are covered as to how they each relate to body and mind healing. In a perfect sense, the author examines the core of healing as a positive way by which each individual can discover his or her own medicine wheel.
