Lee Prosser - Bide One's Time is Lee's bi-weekly column on the supernatural. Branson, Missouri, has become over a period of years one of the largest music entertainment scenes in the USA. The location draws visitors and tourists from all over the world.

The ghost of late actor Cameron Mitchell is reputed to haunt the area. He appears in a dark suit, and looks in at tourists in gift shops, and other locations. Cameron Mitchell’s ghost is either an intelligent haunting, or is a residual haunting. In an intelligent haunting, the ghost is attempting to make contact with a human, whereas in a residual haunting, the ghost is unaware of humans and acts in a series of repeats, caught in a time loop.

Cameron MitchellBranson is located in a Missouri county which has paranormal and ghostly stories dating back prior to the American Civil War. Cameron Mitchell is one of its more recent ghosts. For those who remembered this distinguished actor whose long career stretched from the 1940s to the 1990s, photographs of him are numerous. You may want to check out the biographies online about him, or in a Hollywood reference guide to actors and actresses. Attached is one of the many numerous photos of Cameron Mitchell, and this one will trigger memories in the reader’s mind that Mitchell was the star in the lead role as Uncle Buck in a popular television western series, and appeared in many, many television episodes for other series in addition to his movies.

It will be nice to see if my wife Debra and I can make contact with the ghost of Cameron Mitchell on a forthcoming visit to Branson. It would be very nice to see if his ghost is an intelligent haunting or a residual haunting. Who knows, you may come in contact with his ghost yourself, if you visit Branson!
