Downtown Shreveport Goes Ghostly in June at: Louisiana’s Weirder Side: Downtown Shreveport Paranormal Fest

June 20-23, group tours can experience otherworldly activities at Louisiana's Weirder Side: Downtown Shreveport Paranormal Fest.

The Downtown Development Authority announces Louisiana’s Weirder Side: Downtown Shreveport Paranormal Fest coming Thursday, June 20-Sunday, 23, 2013.The paranormal-packed weekend will include a range of haunted tours, from cemetery creeps and haunted river rides to haunted mansion tours, explorations of yellow fever and Red River disasters and more.

“Downtown Shreveport is filled with history,” says Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Liz Swaine. “And this is a fun, entertaining and educational way to focus on that history and on our inventory of incredible historic buildings. The buildings tell a story…and so do the ‘spirits’ still residing within them. It will be a truly fascinating weekend in June when all these beautiful structures tell their tales.”

Special guests include author/investigator Deonna Kelli Sayed and members of Louisiana Spirits and clairvoyant medium Dakota Lawrence.

The Limited Edition Pass for $60 includes workshops and talks, the cemetery creep, pub crawl discounts, the Ghost Story Telling Competition, lunch on Saturday and the choice of either the haunted river cruise or Logan Mansion tour.

The All Access Pass for $160 includes entry into the Thursday night tour and talk, opening reception, Cemetery Creep, pub crawl discounts, a ghost hunt in one of downtown’s historic buildings which has been pre-screened for spirit activity, haunted Red River cruise, Logan Mansion Tour/Talk, all workshops, lunch on Saturday, Ghost Story Telling competition, a commemorative tote bag and more.

A small number of tickets are available for individual events including Friday and Saturday screenings of the Steven Spielberg movie “Poltergeist” at Robinson Film Center ($10), the Thursday night Paranormal Trolley Tour & Talk ($5), the Twilight Cemetery Creep ($20), the Haunted Logan Mansion Sunday Tour & Jazz Brunch ($35), the Ghost Story Telling Competition ($10) and several free events including a child-friendly haunted tour of the historic Shreve Memorial Library downtown.

Tickets are now available online. A limited number of VIP passes will be sold.

A number of downtown hotels are running special rates in conjunction with the event, and more fun is coming as organizers add even more supernatural events to the weekend line-up.
