Witness: Patti Eide
Location: Gresham, Oregon
Date of Encounter: October 1990

My husband, mother, and I had recently moved to Oregon from California. Our house was in town, but there were several beautiful pine trees in the yard. One day I walked into the dining room to admire the view of the trees from the window. The family room was off to the left, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a male sitting in the recliner. He was wearing jeans, boots, and a red flannel shirt. I started to say something to him, thinking it was my husband, when I realized that my husband was at work — my mother and I were the only ones in the house (or so we thought). When I turned around to look at the figure in the recliner, it wasn't there. I can still, to this day, "see" the figure in my mind. The image was very clear, although from the angle I was looking, I didn't see his face. Surprisingly enough, I didn't feel one bit scared, so apparently, it was a friendly spirit. I never saw him again, but the encounter definitely made me believe in ghosts.
