Ghostvillage.com review

This is an authentic introduction to what is identified as African and Diaspora drumming. Sule Greg Wilson gives a straight-forward, in-depth analysis, and discusses how the African-American spirit has been sustained and furthered by the art forms of dancing and drumming.

There is also a companion CD available for separate purchase for those wishing to hear what is detailed in the book. The CD is also titled “The Drummer’s Path.” It features the sounds of Sule Greg Wilson and other guest artists with 24 songs including the intriguing song, “Santeria.” The performances are topnotch. Published in 1994, it is available from Destiny Books.

The material should find a ready audience with its unique and honest revelations. Full of keen insights and autographical sharings, this is a book to enjoy and learn from.

A one of its kind book, it is a story of an artist’s life and an honest attempt to express the art and function of drumming in culture. Sule Greg Wilson gives us a look at what is considered in many cultures a sacred art: the art of drumming.

Congratulations to the author for a well-written book, and CD.
