Ghostvillage.com review

Those readers who have studied the lore of ghosts and hauntings, are also aware of the use of roots and bones in Hoodoo practices. Hoodoo is best defined as a highly eclectic blend of various African traditions, Native American herbalism, Judeo-Christian rituals, and magical healing. In this book, you receive a topnotch appreciation and explanation of Hoodoo.

Gifted with a smooth writing style that captivates the reader’s interest, Stephanie Rose Bird gives a fascinating account. With over three decades in the practice of rootwork, she is highly qualified to write this book.

The book contains much informative data, material that will amaze and educate. In addition to the introduction, there are fourteen chapters. The appendix material is excellent. Of special interest are the chapters “The Conjurer’s Dream” and “Passin’ On.” The chapter on passing on explains traditional burial customs, hoodoo for the terminally ill, and rituals and ceremonies. Those interested in cleaning rituals and spirit washes will find much information that is not commonly known, and useful. Health and prosperity are among other topics explained.

This is a fine nonfiction book, one that will appeal to many readers for different reasons. This is a nice reference work, worthy of your library. Well-written and entertaining.
