Ghostvillage.com review

Destiny is among the front runners in publishing CD material that is both useful and helpful for its listeners. They recently published three winners: Attunements For Day and Night by Harish Johari, Rolfing in Motion by Mary Bond, and Ritual Drumming by Mishlen Linden and Louis Martinie.

Harish Johari utilizes the fine art of japa in Attunements for Day and Night. Japa is the Ancient Indian form of the repeated chanting of a mantra, which is an old Hindu technique for personal attunement. Using this CD will give the listener the mantras associated with the sun and moon, 108 times. Repeating these mantras will help create peace and prosperity. Harish Johari (1934 – 1999) is well known for this type of intricate chanting, and the CD will be enjoyable listening. 108 is the preferred number of repetitions. The CD is enchanting in its approach, and accurate in delivery style!

Written and narrated by Mary Bond, Rolfing in Motion is a fine CD concerned with balancing the body. Mary Bond gives a selection of 26 structural awareness exercises which teach listeners how to recognize and give meaningful response to the body’s inner messages. There is a discussion of walking and standing patterns, sitting, balance, and ease of posture. This CD is designed to help the listener increase well-being and vitality! Mary Bond is a certified Rolfer, and a certified Rolfing Movement teacher.

If you are interested in evoking the sacred through rhythms of the spirit, listening to Ritual Drumming by Mishlen Linden and Louis Martinie will be a greatly enjoyable experience for you! The use of conga, shekerai, Middle Eastern dumbekei, Ashanti talking drum (djun-djun), bodhran, trap tom, mridangam, Senegal and Ivory Coast djembes, Haitian agogo, and the Chinese finger drum are among the unique instruments featured on this CD. The pieces performed are festival and ritual works, and compositions for use in trance and personal meditation are also featured.

These three CDs will appeal to a wide range of listeners for different reasons. The recordings are topnotch, and the sound is clear. Congratulations to Destiny for offering these exceptional recordings to the listening public.
