Llewellyn’s 2005 Herbal Almanac contains an abundance of information about herbs used in cooking and crafts. It contains information on health and beauty herbs, growing and gathering herbs, and an excellent collection of herb magick and lore.

A nice and clearly written guide to the practice of herbal wisdom, the book contains more than 25 articles by internationally known herbalists. Among the many treasures in this book are found such articles as “Starting an Herbal Garden” by Pearlmoon, “The Aromatic Treasures of India” by Stephanie Rose Bird, “Herbs for Menopause” by Leeda Alleyn Pacotti, “Monastic Herb Gardens” by Lynn Smythe, among others.

An article sure to catch the reader’s attention is “Dandelion and Chicory Coffee” by Tammy Sullivan. Everything you want to know about these two intriguing herbs is shared with the reader.

As an herbal almanac, this is one of the best available, and it will surprise the readers with its facts and information. A helpful book, it is highly recommended for those interested in herbs.

Some of the many herb recipes for food preparation will make your mouth water in anticipation! There is also a safe list of herbs for children. This herbal almanac is well worth your time, and reasonably priced.
