Date of Encounter: August 1979
This not the first encounter I have had with the paranormal but is one that stands out in my mind often. When I was 11 years old my younger cousin and I were spending the night at my grandmother's. She was not your everyday loving grandma, but she was loving. She just like to scare the bajeebies out of you. Anyway, grandma played the Ouija board and had done so for years.
One night, my cousin and me went to bed in her guest bedroom. I was a big chicken and slept next to the wall and made my younger cousin sleep on the outside near the door. I had to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I was walking down the hall and over my head on the ceiling (this is a trailer, so no attic) something was following me all the way down the hall and stopped just before I entered the bathroom. Needless to say I was freaking out! I hurried and started back to the room at the end of the corridor and the rumbling again followed me back to the bedroom. I jumped over my cousin into bed and she asked what was going on. I was telling her and she said it happened to her before but didn't want to say anything. It took awhile but we both eventually calmed down and fell back to sleep.
It wasn't long after this when I turned over and my forehead was against the wall. All of a sudden right where my head was resting something hit the wall. Nothing could have been on the other side of the wall. The stove, refrigerator, and cupboards were there. It felt like someone smacked me in the head. Thank goodness it was morning. I woke my cousin and we never dressed so quickly in our lives. We both begged to go home… like now. Grandma asked what was wrong and I explained what happened and she said, "Well at least he didn't try to freeze you to death. He sleeps between me and my covers every night."
I still went to visit my grandma now and again but I never stayed the night. When she went to the store and left me at the trailer I would go outside and stay in the yard and look back at the windows periodically. It always felt like someone or something inside was watching me.
