Tobias Churton is the founder/editor of the controversial Freemasonry Today magazine, and a writer and filmmaker whose work has been highly received and acclaimed. In this fine book he debunks myths and reveals mysteries.

This book is probably the most up to date collected knowledge on the history of Gnositc alchemy, the true origins of the pre-Grand Lodge Freemasonry, and the Rosicrucians. The book covers 1,600 years of esoteric history and is exciting in scope to read, and understand. Important historical figures such as Paracelsus, Caspar Schwenckfeld, Johann Valentin Andrae, and Elias Ashmore are discussed.

Part one of the book is a look at the Hermetic current and its beginnings from Hellenistic Alexander to the time of Paracelsus. Part two covers the Rosicrucian movement in-depth, and many of the facts presented will surprise readers.

Part three centers around one man. It is the story of an early Freemason, Elias Ashmole. An English man for all seasons, the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford is named after him. Ashmole was an alchemist and astrologer among other things including being an avid antiquarian.

This book contains much collected spiritual wisdom, and explores the meaning of magick. For those seriously interested in Gnosticism, this book is a must-have for your reference library at home. The insightful perspectives shared on the Hermetic roots of the Freemasons and Rosicrucians will delight readers, and those interested in Masonic research will applaud the fine research and honest approach by the author.

A fine book, excellent, and entertaining. Much information, and an honest approach make The Golden Builders a topnotch book in its class.
