Ghostvillage.com review

This unusual and highly readable book about Druid ceremonial magick is the first complete manual of its kind. Readers are shown how to adapt these rituals to their personal traditions.

Interesting to beginning and advanced students, the writing is crisp, straight-forward, and helpful. As a guide to personal spiritual development, it is honest in its approach.

There are three parts to this book. Following the foreword by David Spangler and the introduction, part one concentrates on the foundations of what is known as Druid magick. The three chapters in this section discuss the ways of the Life Force, the Magick alphabet, and the essentials of practice. Part two discusses the Druid Magick practices and has four chapters covering gates of the elements, grove of the Druids, art of enchantment, and the secret of the Grail. Part three contains the important chapter about the reenchantment of the World. Bibliography and index are included. An appendix covers the deities in Welsh Druid traditions.

Coming from a Welsh heritage, I found this a fascinating reading experience. I liked the book’s approach and presentation of material.

John Michael Greer has been a follower of the Druid path since 1993 when he received initiation in the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids (OBOD). He lives in Ashland, Oregon with his wife Sara. His Web site is: http://www.thearchdruidreport.com.
