My grandfather died when I was six years old — we were very close. He was my mother's father, and my mother always used to boast that she was his favorite and therefore that was why he loved me so much.

He died suddenly of a heart attack and unfortunately I never got the chance to say good-bye and that I loved him. About a year later (I was around 7) I was lying in my bed trying to go to sleep when I noticed a dark figure walk into my room. (it looked like a shadow or a silhouette) I knew both my parents were asleep so it could not have been them. Surprisingly, I was not afraid of the ghostly figure. I think I knew, even at such a young age I think I knew it was my grandfather.

The apparition walked into my room and sat on the edge of my bed — I could actually feel the mattress go down like a real person just sat on it. I could not see his face, but I knew it was him. He reached for my blankets and pulled them up to my chin as if he were tucking me in and whispered, "Don't worry, everything will be o.k." Then he just got up and walked out. My mother never saw anything, but I knew I wasn't dreaming. It was my grandfather coming back to say good-bye one last time.

I am now 20 years old, I have never seen or heard from my grandfather since that time, but I know he is still with me making sure I'm o.k.
