Dear Ghostvillagers,

Do you believe in miracles? I do. I witnessed one just last month when my daughter was born. Sure, there are over six billion people on Earth, meaning there's been at least six billion miracles in modern times, but when you consider everything that has to happen between conception and the first breath of a newborn -- it truly is a miracle.

There are other miracles in our lives as well. Some are small and may seem insignificant to everyone else but the witness, and some are so large that the event causes the masses to ponder what mysterious force could have possibly intervened.

The word gets tossed around quite a bit -- certainly any fan of sports has heard the word "miracle" used to describe an unlikely win or play, but one person's miracle is often another person's luck. Dictionary.com defines miracle as: "an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause." This month on Ghostvillage.com, we're going to delve a little deeper into miracles, both big and small. Have there been miracles in your own life? If so, we want to hear about them. Does your faith or religion teach about miracles? If so, how do those teachings affect your modern-world view?

I'm also working on a new book this month -- a first of its kind. It's called The Ghost Files, and the work is going to cover some of the discussions and research that have been presented on Ghostvillage.com throughout the years. We're going to pick the ghost phenomena apart from beginning to end. But here's the twist: This book will be a dialogue; a conversation, and those who wish to participate can join our special message board to do so. You can visit this new board here and jump in on any topic that you have strong feelings about.

Everything else is hopping along here at the Ghostvillage.com headquarters. We're sponsoring a one-day event coming up May 5th: The Eastern Massachusetts Paranormal Ghost Conference and Seminar in Haverhill, Massachusetts featuring some great speakers. Click here for ticket information. And just a reminder that today is the last day for discount tickets to the Ghost World Conference in Gettysburg July 20-22. You do not want to miss this event! Enjoy the rest of the newsletter below.

Supernaturally yours,

Jeff Belanger
Mayor of Ghostvillage.com

Monthly Contest
Congratulations to Joslyn Woodbury of Ridgway, Pennsylvania, who was last month's winner of an autographed copy of Jeff Belanger's book, The World's Most Haunted Places, a Ghostvillage.com window sticker, and a Ghostvillage.com t-shirt!

This month, we're doing the contest again, but we ask that you first click this link: http://www.ghostvillage.com/index.shtml#winner. If it says, "The search is on" then we don't have a winner yet and go ahead and send in your answer. If you see today's date and "We have a winner!" that means you weren't the first to email us. Sorry, please try again next month.

On to this month's question: This question can be answered by reading a page on Ghostvillage.com. The first person to reply to this email with the correct answer will win this month's prize.

According to author Ursula Bielski, what is the real identity of Resurrection Mary?

Once we have our winner, we will announce them on our home page as soon as possible. Good luck! (Only Ghostvillagers who have not won a prize from us in the last year are eligible.)

This month's prize: We're giving away an autographed copy of Jeff Belanger's book, Our Haunted Lives: True Life Ghost Encounters, a Ghostvillage.com window sticker, and a Ghostvillage.com t-shirt!

Who's Who in the Town Square?
Get to know some of your fellow Ghostvillagers.

>>Ron Kolek<< - member since August 22, 2005

What is your name?
Ronald John Kolek Sr. (New England’s own Van Helsing)

How old are you?
Older than dirt (58).

Where do you live?
Dracut, Massachusetts, USA

What do you do for a living?
Radio Host, Columnist, and Ghost Hunter Extraordinaire (Oh yeah, I sell luggage for Macy’s too).

How did you get started in ghost investigating?
Happenchance, a near-death experience, and a bizarre set of events. I decided to use my scientific background (I have a degree in environmental science) to try to make sense of the unknown, unexplained, and the unbelievable world of the paranormal (not to prove to the world the existence of ghosts, but rather to explore it for my own personal edification).

What is your objective for the Ghost Chronicles radio show?
It is a vehicle to explore the many facets of paranormal and to share my personal experiences in investigating the paranormal with the rest of the known world.

What's the most haunted location you've ever investigated?
The Windham Restaurant, the Houghton Mansion, oh... and Old Hill Cemetery (I did get slimed there!).

What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Who has time to eat ice cream?
