Paranormal enthusiasts raise money for the Crump Theatre.

Columbus, Indiana — The paranormal-related, PhenomeCon 2008 convention hosted by Indiana-SPI, EERIE Radio, and Crossroads Paranormal is set for Saturday April, 19th 2008; doors will open at 9:00 AM with the event beginning at 10:00 AM, and lasting until 6:00 PM at the historic Crump Theatre, 425 3rd Street Columbus, Indiana 47201.

The Crump Theatre built in 1874, as an Opera House, has fallen into serious disrepair and is in need of renovation. The Crump underwent a thorough renovation in 1941, when it was redesigned in Art Moderne style, including its dramatic facade, with its two-story tall vertical marquee, illuminated by chaser lights. The Crump remained popular for decades until declining ticket sales forced the theatre to close in 1987. The theatre came close to being demolished, but fortunately was spared. PhenomeCon 2008 proceeds will help save this Columbus landmark and restore it to its former grandeur.

Event Synopsis: Indiana-PhenomeCon 2008 is a fundraiser and pop culture event attracting paranormal enthusiasts from around the Midwest. This convention will offer attendees exclusive access to industry exhibitors and retailers.
