We inherited a lot of antiques from my mother-in-law when she passed. One item in particular gave me the scare of my life! The hall tree chair always gave me chill bumps when I was near it in mother-in-law's house, but the minute it was in our house I started feeling "something" was connected to the chair. I started seeing a shadow moving around it and the shadow would show up at different places in my house. I would not look in the mirror at the top of the chair for fear of seeing something I shouldn't. After a few months of increasing activity I was preparing dinner and felt as if someone was watching me. I turned around and saw a creature (definitely not human) sitting there glaring at me. It looked something like a gremlin with sharp teeth and pointed ears. I ran out of the house (chicken frying and all) to my neighbor's driveway. I was shaking so bad I could hardly tell her what happened. She went through my house and said all of the lights had been turned off and the closet doors were open. I certainly didn't leave my house like that! I refused to go back in until my husband came home. I spent four days with my parents until my husband and son could remove the hall tree chair and take it to a storage room somewhere else. After that, the creature and shadow never made another appearance. I was told by a psychic that we should never sell it to anyone else, but instead burn it to get rid of the creature. Also, I do have a regular visitor in my living room (non-scary apparition) which is an older man in work clothes. He started appearing when we were doing some work in the living room. He startles me sometimes, though. This house has always had its poltergeist activities that usually moves things around and an innocent being that has touched me on occasion.
