Witness: Rosie
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Date of Encounter: 1995

The encounter actually happened to my brother while he was still living at home with us. He has always been "sensitive," even as a child.

Back in 1995,we had a friend of the family who had a brain aneurysm. She had surgery and was in the intensive care unit. One morning, I was getting ready for work when the phone rang. My mom and my brother were downstairs having breakfast in the kitchen, so I answered the phone in my room. It was the lady's sister telling me that our friend had passed away in the night. I went downstairs to tell my family about it. Much to my shock, they were discussing a "vision" my brother had that same night. His bedroom was across the hall from mine on the second floor of the house. We shared a bathroom, located between our two rooms. My brother said he got up to go to the bathroom and saw a female figure at the bottom of the stairs. He said the figure was "floating". The figure had no feet. He went back in his room and shut the door. The figure passed through the door and stood by my brother's bedside. He said he knew who it was, and that the figure was moving her lips, but no voice was coming out of her mouth. She lingered a few seconds, but then left through the same doorway. My mom and my brother told me the story, but they did not yet know that the lady had died that same night. When I revealed this to them, we were all in shock. We came to the conclusion that she had come to say "goodbye" to us. My brother said he never felt afraid. We never saw her again after that night. I think she may have come to my room also, but I was not awake. I believe she did come to me, though.
